About Intelligence Bureau
Intelligence Bureau is India’s internal intelligence agency which works under Ministry of Home Affairs. It was established in 1887 during the British rule in India. So it is called one of the oldest intelligence agencies in the world. The Intelligence Bureau is headed by Director who is normally a class 1 (Gazetted) officer.   Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaus (SIBs) are also there which are headed by officers of the rank of Joint Director or above, but smaller SIBs are also sometimes headed by Deputy Directors. The working of Intelligence Bureau (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intelligence_Bureau_(India)) is mostly secret and is not revealed to public. There are district level head quarters in Intelligence Bureau under the Deputy Central Intelligence Officers (DCIO) or Assistant Central Intelligence Officers (ACIO). The IB recruitment of ACIO jobs is going now. Intelligence Officers have special pay packages and promotions.
